With the modern apartment getting smaller by the day, the space for storing the essentials seems to be more of a concern than a subject. Thankfully, some spaces are always free, and among the best places to keep stuff is the area under the bed. Now, before we go in the details, it is necessary to understand that this is an idea that won’t work for the beds in the Japanese style. The legs are too short or sometimes, there are no legs at all. For all other beds, this idea can be extremely useful.
When to use the space under bed: For certain homes, there is an extensive need to have more space. If your home lacks the required amount of usable space and you don’t have the area to add a new closet, this can be a good concept. In the next few lines, we will talk and cover most of the conventional and unique ways to keep things under the bed and easy ideas for keeping order at home.
Using bed drawers:
Bed drawers are a part of many beds that you see in the market and brands like IKEA has done wonders with those styles. Depending on the size and style of the bed, you can have two to four drawers just under the bed as a part of the furniture. If the height of bed is considerably high, you can even have chest of drawers where you can keep the small essentials. For the designs and materials, the price you pay decides what you can get. While some designs intentionally show the bed drawers as a part of style, there are others where you can get such styles where the bed seems just a bed.
Plastic Containers:
For homes where the capacity of the drawers is not a concern, plastic containers can be meaningful items. The boxes in plastic work both in terms of cost and functionality, and the shapes and designs can be in as many forms as you want. You can choose some mixed colors or odd boxes or can just stick to the transparent style to know what’s stored inside. Ideally, you cannot store a lot of things in these boxes, but for small things that are often misplaced, this works wonders.
Low baskets:
If you are more of a fan of the eco style, you can find a lot of boxes that are designed in wicker, bamboo and other green materials. The good thing that baskets can store a lot of things and can be large enough to hold your laundry, as well. Not to forget, this is one of the most convenient options you have on the block as the costs aren’t that high. Also, you have the option of changing and swapping designs and styles whenever you desire as per the practical needs of storing things.
